Hamaya Fielder blasted a walk-off home run in the bottom of the seventh to lift the Neshoba Central Lady Rockets to a 7-6 win over Choctaw Central Monday night in slowpitch softball action.

It was the regular season finale for the Lady Rockets who will enter the state playoffs Saturday as the No. 1 team out of their region. Choctaw Central finishes with a 13-8 regular season record and is also headed for the playoffs.

The Lady Rockets went up 6-0 in the bottom of the first. Choctaw Central battled back to score three in the second, one in the sixth and two in the seventh. With the score tied at 6-6, Fielder hit a home run to clinch the victory.

Fielder, Layana Morris and Reese Page all finished with two hits.

Ciji Vaughn led the Lady Warriors with a home run and a single. Melaka Morris had three hits while Melanian Jimmie, Neera Bell and Maiya Joe all had two hits.

Neshoba Central played two games last week, defeating Northeast Lauderdale 13-3 last Tuesday and Meridian High 14-0.

The Lady Rockets needed just three innings to put Northeast Lauderdale away.

Neshoba Central scored two in the first, nine in the second and two in the third. Northeast Lauderdale scored one in the first and two in the second.

Tenly Grisham hit a double, scored three runs and knocked another one in. Reese Page hit a double and a single while scoring two runs and knocking another one in. Jada Ben and Elleigh Willis both hit a double.

The Lady Rockets needed four innings to put the Meridian Lady Wildcats away.

Neshoba Central scored three in the first, five in the second, three in the third and three in the fourth.

Mya Willis hit two home runs and knocked in three runs to pace the Lady Rockets, Tenly Grisham hit a home run, a triple and a double. She scored three runs and knocked in four more. Hamaya Fielder had two hits and knocked in two runs while Reese Page had three hits, scored three runs and knocked in one more. Nautica Ben hit a double.
